If you’ve ever dreamed of learning to fly, this comprehensive 3-hour Introduction to Flying Course is the perfect way to start your aviation journey. Departing from the picturesque Deanland Airfield, just outside Lewes, this hands-on experience goes far beyond a simple flight—offering real insight into what it takes to become a pilot.
You’ll be welcomed to our friendly grass-strip airfield, rich in aviation history and surrounded by the stunning landscapes of East Sussex. Your session begins with a relaxed but informative ground school briefing, where you’ll learn the basics of aircraft controls, flight theory, navigation, and safety procedures. This is not just a joyride—it's your first real taste of pilot training.
After your pre-flight checks and briefing, you'll take to the skies with a fully qualified flight instructor at your side. Over the course of two extended flying sessions (split with a break in between), you’ll learn how to handle the aircraft, perform basic manoeuvres, and even try climbing, descending, turning, and maintaining level flight. Under the instructor’s guidance, you’ll be at the controls for much of the time, giving you the rare opportunity to fly a light aircraft with real purpose.
Throughout the flight, you’ll enjoy spectacular views of the South Downs, Lewes Castle, Beachy Head, and the Sussex coast, making the experience both instructional and visually unforgettable.
